Well, some guy ran a green light. ;) So I hit him... oops!
I didn't get any pics at the site, so I went over to the body shop today and took a couple.

Record breaking 367.382 MPH: BUB Seven Streamliner

BUB Seven Streamliner

Amazing speed on a motorcycle. Or rather, in a motorcycle. A full body stream-liner, with a custom made 400 horsepower v-4. Or maybe it's 500hp, as listed on the motor page, whatever. Check out the great pics of making a motor from scratch on their site! Being a woodworker myself, I especially appreciated the pic of the pattern for the mold, made from mahogany!

Not a very practical commuter, though...

There's no room for my lunch-box!

"People believe what they see, and they're willing to punish each other for it, apparently even when what they're seeing is a fake video that doesn't jibe with real-life experience."...“So we now know that digitally altered footage can change people’s perceptions of an event..."
Fake Video Can Convince Witnesses to Give False Testimony | Wired Science | Wired.com
This is such a retarded conclusion to this study. The perception of events was not altered, but certainly the subjects actions were. It never occurred to these researchers that people are willing to lie to get what they want?

Your Jetpack Ride Awaits on eBay | Autopia | Wired.com
Wow, this is a pretty cool machine, although it's obviously a ducted fan and not a jetpack... Well who cares, it does the same thing sans the fried thighs... ;)

So for 30,000 bucks, what do you get? Not an actual Jet, err, Ducted Fan Pack, but you get to be the first person outside the development team to fly one! Well, isn't that special! Do you get a t-shirt at least? lol... I suppose since only one person in the world can be first that's not an bad price. Anyway, it's a cool concept I think I'll start making one myself. I'd want foot rests on it though. Otherwise I'd be afraid that my shoes would fall off while flying. ;)

Ok, I have no idea who Slim is, but I will say thanks for the laugh, Slim! I found the pics here: MY WAR F.O.A.D.: the primer nats.

Two drawer lateral file cab. The top sags a little and has some dents. The paint is worn in some places, as you can see. The drawers open and close, the top one hits the top a little. I don't have the keys. A bunch of legal size hanging folders go with it. There are also a few regular sized folders in the bottom drawer, I don't know why they are there but you can have them if you want them.

Ok so the guy was in Iraqi jail for three years, now, apparently he is a hero to some...

The 68 Most Bizarre And Perilous Bridges | WebUrbanist
Awesome video:
So how 'bout it... up for a stroll? At any moment more of the walkway could crumble beneath your feet... Note the thin steel wire onto which you clip a climbers harness. You'll need it, no doubt! Insane, my ass!
Awesome video:
"To put it quite simply, this bridge is crazy dangerous. Would you be brave enough, or perhaps stupid enough, to cross El Camino Del Ray? Translated, this means The King's Pathway. It is in total disrepair and is a death trap in Spain. About 700 feet up along the El Chorro gorge, the narrow path is three feet wide in places where it's not crumbled away. There are hardly any handrails. Can you imagine crossing this, nevertheless filming it as you go? It would either be insane, or insanely fun."

Omelettes For Lunch

I made Omelets for lunch for me and the boys today. If you've never made an omelet before, you should give it a try. It takes a bit of practice to make a well formed, nicely browned omelet, but it's not hard to do, and even if you don't make something pretty, it's still quite edible. As long as you don't burn it. I'll explain how I make them:

"Britain's oldest original computer, the Harwell, is being sent to the National Museum of Computing at Bletchley where it is to be restored to working order."

This thing was designed in 1949 and first ran in 1951. It was dismantled in 1973. Now they are putting it back together in a museum. Cool! Cool? It's got 900 vacuum tubes... how cool is that? Pretty hot is more like it! ;)

Motorcyclist dies in apparent road-rage crash : Local News : Ventura County Star

"Don't bring a knife to a gun fight"
Of course, we'll never know if the biker really did try to give the RV a break job or not, but it seems plausible, I've seen stupider things before... but at 57 years old the guy should'a known better! Road rage? more like suicide... what the hell could he have been thinking?
Edit... Emerging details on the story...
Could he have waved a friendly wave to the driver of the RV, and with a little misjudgment pulled in too close and got caught under the bumper? ehh... maybe... whatever...
